Three Hands: BDes Alumna Sara Cwynar Solo Exhibition

Sara Cwynar 2016

BDes ’10 Sara Cwynar is showing her latest photobased work Three Hands at Cooper Cole Gallery, opening Oct 28 – Dec 4. Now living in Brooklyn NY, Sara recevied her an MFA from Yale in 2016. Prior to this she worked as a graphic designer for the New York Times.

Toronto Star visual arts critic Murray Whyte writes “Cwynar’s dense photo collages are brightly seductive eye candy, with a hurricane of images arrayed into such confections as floral arrangements (her breakthrough work from 2013). But pretty is simply the bait on the hook for the artist’s deeper concerns, about image-making and how the specificity of intent dissolves in the constant deluge of picture and information, eventually obscuring both.”
